Anyway?

Is it floating around in the sky like a dove

While your heart skips a beat and drifts away.

Away like a dream

Forgotten and lost in the sky

While your mind conspires a scheme

And makes up a lie.

A lie about the two of you

And this makeshift love you share.

What can two people do

When they know they haven't got a prayer.

A prayer of being together forever

For the love they shared is eternally lost and gone.

It was a hopeless endeavor

Like trying to stop the dawn.
