Title: Three's Company
Author: Eáránë Serágon
Rating: G
A/N : Another creative writing assignment. We were assigned to write a love story, with characters and plot of our choice. It was supposed to be based off of one of my own personal experiences, but I decided that this was more fun.
A boy, slightly older than the girl, laughed as he was bombarded with such emotion, hugging the girl tightly to his chest. Grinning, he gave her a small, soft kiss on her lips, smiling into the kiss. Beaming, he was the first to pull away, their noses still touching as they stared fondly into each other’s eyes.
“You’re so beautiful.” He whispered to her, a smile lighting up his face as he spoke. She had the decency to let out a soft giggle, running her nicely manicured hand through his black spikes mindlessly, not responding. He leaned in to steal another kiss, when there was a shout from across the courtyard once again.
“Stacy!” A low tenor voice called, glee evident in the boy’s tone. Darren’s back straitened, and his eyes gleamed with happiness at the entrance of the other boy.
“Daniel!” He stated in excitement, though the other boy couldn’t hear him. Stacy sighed, letting her arms drop from their perch around Darren’s shoulders. Darren’s arms, still tight in their positioning around her waist, moved to a more casually friendly positioning, and as Daniel moved closer to the two, his arm disappeared from her waist altogether.
The sun gleamed off of Daniel’s dirty blonde hair, and his blue eyes sparkled much as Stacy’s did in the cheerful afternoon air. His cheerful grin was evident to most of the passerby, and most of all evident to the two people he was approaching. As he neared, he opened his arms for a hug, heading towards Stacy as he did so. Stacy forced a happy smile, letting him envelope her in a hug, and peck a small, gentle kiss on her mouth as well.
“Hey, beautiful.” He greeted, granting her with yet another soft kiss. She smiled, accepting the kisses, but never moving to embrace the boy as she had with the other. He didn’t seem to mind, instead giving her another kiss, this time a gentle kiss on the cheek. She continued to smile, forcing the corners of her lips to move upwards, and forcing her mouth to return his kiss, a small, delicate brush of her lips to his cheek. This seemed to satisfy him, and before she knew it, the arms that had been trapping her were gone.
Knowing what was coming next, she crossed her arms protectively, her smile looking, if possible, even more forced than before.
“Darren.” The happiness was evident in the blonde boy’s voice, and his grin portrayed that he was delighted to see the other boy.
“Daniel.” The black haired boy could not even disguise the joy he felt in the presence of the boy in front of him, and didn’t bother wasting any time. He held his arms out for a hug, and Daniel didn’t waste any time, embracing the other boy lovingly and resting his head upon his broad shoulder, sighing in contentment. Darren smiled, holding the boy protectively against his chest, feeling the other’s arms wound tightly around his back in an eager hold.
Chuckling, the black-haired boy loosened their embrace. Gently, he lifted the other boy’s face, gazing lovingly into the other boy’s stunning blue eyes. Daniel gazed up into Darren’s dark brown eyes, a loving smile adorning his face as he examined the other boy’s features. Gently, he raised a hand, his thumb caressing the other’s cheek in a caring gesture.
Darren captured the hand in his own, holding it tightly, never losing eye contact with the blonde in front of him. Slowly, almost dramatically, he leaned forward, capturing the shorter boy’s lips in a sweet, demanding kiss. Both pairs of eyes fluttered shut, the sensations of the kiss overwhelming them.
To the side, Stacy stood, her arms still crossed over her bosom and her mouth now in a rather annoyed, temperamental frown. She knew she didn’t have to fake a smile anymore - they wouldn’t notice either way. They were much too far-gone in their activities to notice -
“Stacy! Come on, we’re going to go roller-blading. Come on!” Darren’s voice lifted her out of her angry, fuming thoughts, and she raised an eyebrow. Their escapades had lasted a shorter time than usual today.
“You know I don’t know how to roller-blade.” Stacy snapped at him, still slightly annoyed at the lack of attention towards her. She felt a hand grip her own, lightly, but protectively, on her right side, and she glanced over, only to see Daniel to be the one holding it.
“I won’t let you fall, sweety. I’ll protect you. I promise.” For the first time since Daniel’s arrival, she felt the annoyance of his interruption lift. A true smile flickered itself onto her face, and she was reminded once again why she loved the blonde so much. She opened her mouth to comment on this, when another hand enveloped her other hand, gently, on her right side. She glanced over to this side, and her eyes brightened, seeing Darren there, holding her other hand just as strongly.
“Correction, Daniel. i We /I won’t let you fall. We’ll always protect you, baby. The three of us. We’ll always be together.”
At Darren’s words, Daniel nodded in agreement, making Stacy smile once more. The three of them. Of course. Nodding, she sent them a dazzling smile, a real one, and started to walk, dragging the two of them behind her, their hands still linked.
