Teenage Thoughts

Friends and the mall,

Screen names and cell phones.

Periods and puberty,

Along with stupid hormones.

Do something different,

And judgments are made.

Hearts are broken

As years start to fade.

Three-hour conversations,

Secrets and lies,

Others may tease you

For your shape or your size.

Barbie dolls and G.I. Joes,

Along with a careless mind.

Forgetting all those cooties,

And learning to leave the pastbehind.
