How Peaceful

Eyes softly closed

Encased in sweet darkness.

Nothing more comforting

Than the stars behind my eyelids.

Waiting for sleep that

I know will never come.

I’d love to go home but

It’s less worth it to some.

I’m tired of looking so alive

When all around me is dead,

So sick of waiting to see

If I’ll ever wake up again.

But the clock chimes—and

We’re out of time—and

Falling

—down…

Sweet, sweet bliss and sleep

Somewhere lost and never

Found beyond the cold hard

Case of my worthless body.

Tearsand sighsand

Questions like—“why?”

That I’ll never tell you because

You don’t deserve to know, how

Peaceful death really is.
