I scream out but do my friends hear? No. (very old poem, so it's not that great)

Doorbell

I hear the doorbell chime

Coming to answer, I hear many laughs

Longing to join this jovial bunch

I eagerly open the once-bolted door

"Hello! I'm here!" I cry out, excited

But no one seems to take any notice

"Where is she?" they ponder mockingly

Soon, they become impatient, and leave

And I'm still here, screaming my voice dead

Its miserable echoes are muffled by ignorance

As they skip on off in merriment

And abandon me in their absence
