I would especially like to give a heartfelt thank you to Mettie and Luneko. You flatter me terribly. : )

A short, simple little thing reflecting how I might feel twenty years from now.

This Present Past

I walk down the hallway now empty and bare

Where people once laughed and girls brushed their long hair,

The hallway, dear hallway where I used to live

And squeeze through the crowd as if sand through a sieve.

Back then when life’s lessons had yet to be learned,

When the burdens I bore were not so justly earned,

An innocent time when the worst of my cares,

Was to make sure my socks always stayed in their pairs.

Please tell me what you think! I am greatly trying to improve, but can't unless you tell me what you think needs improvement! Thanks!
