Pins and needles pierce the light

Freeze it in place to blind me

The voice is caught deep in my throat

The pressure of speech behind me

--

The wretched wind cuts through me

The audacity of it is astounding

To strike me- and make me bleed

The singer's voice is pounding

--

Sing me to sleep

So it shall continue to cut

In a dream I once called wholesome

Drop me into my favorable rut

--

The awkwardness is soothing

And it makes me dizzy to ever reflect

Leave me with a newly erased mind

These evil beings I soon expect

--

Who are you? They ask

Hm, I guess I should ask that too

You’ve been controlling me

For as long as I can remember
