I've known Ali since I can remember; she's always so generous, and caring. My dad was the "king" of Ireland, and he wanted a good ruler to rule when his time was up. He could pick me if he wanted but he could choose anyone because I was adopted. So he picked Ali. She was born to be queen because, she was generous and gracious but she wasn't greedy.
Back when she was 15 she was beautiful, long curly dark brown hair… she always wore it down, dazzling dark blue eyes, and she always wore some kind of "down to earth" green flowing dress. She had small feet and a knack with animals.
When she was little, she saved poor animals from being killed or injured, she saved cats from trees. Once she saved a leprechaun… a girl leprechaun. With all her animal friends trailing her she was looking for hurt or frantic animals. One of her dog friends started barking and running away so she followed him. The dog led her to a lake where there was something splashing in the middle. The lake was the same color as her eyes and sparkled where the sun hit it. She swam to the frantic creature and pulled it back to shore.
When she looked down at the creature she realized it was a leprechaun. The leprechaun thanked her quickly. And gave her a light green bag filled with 3 blue-jay feathers which were also the same color as her eyes.
"Okay, these are the feathers you use," the leprechaun said, "and this is the poem you need to say and add your wish to the end!"
"What are they for?" Ali asked.
"You get three wishes!" the leprechaun yelled. Apparently the leprechaun has a short temper.
"What for?"
"You saved me…no duh!"
"Wait! Who are you?" Ali questioned.
"Alyssa, bye!" She replied.
"Ali! Nice to meet you! Now…" Ali started.
"Bye!"
"Wait! What do I do with the feather when I make the wish?"
"I don't know! Blow it out the window! Why do I care?"
"Wait! Come back!" But she was gone.
She had heard that most people had a miserable time with this sort of thing and usually ended up using their last wish to change everything back. With this information she decided she wouldn't use them until she was older and wiser.
And then my dad died she was only 18, and she wasn't much wiser yet. She thought she could use them for the good of her country but not until things went really bad. It was too bad then that she was doing a great job and didn't need to use them.
When she was 22 she gave up waiting and decided to use them for her own good. See, she was working really hard and her animals were the only company she had in the palace except for some visits from me. She thought if she made the palace more comfortable and no one had to do anything for themselves, more people might visit her. So her first wish was for a completely computerized palace. In three seconds there she was in a technopalace. She couldn't believe that she was in the same place so she went out side and she found a huge garden. There was a gorgeous waterfall in it and it was surrounded by "lily of the valleys" a bench and a path through the middle. So she was pleased, but after that she changed.
She started to realize that she could have anything that she wanted. So she decided that she wanted a millions of down pillows. She was very pleased but couldn't decide what to ask for yet so she decided she would sleep on it. The next morning she got a letter from a town's person that said, "This morning I didn't get up because I wasn't woken up by the honking of the geese. I was wondering where they went."
She was stuck on this one so she asked her house. It told her, "Darling, when you got those down pillows yesterday every goose ever seen or heard of disappeared except the ones you saved when you were little."
She finally discovered what so many others had before her.
Ok so Sam is right and I'm so sorry for all those goose… or is it geese? Any way I declared my third wish to be to change it all back, like so many others before me so I recited the poem that the leprechaun gave me, with my wish attached to the end:
Every wish I make from dawn till dust,
Shall come true to the very last touch.
Even though it might be fatal,
I trust that in the end god shall prevail.
So now I wish to undo all my wishes
But let the water garden stay, with all its little fishes
So then I blacked out and when I woke up I was back in my palace with all the comforts of home and my animals. I heard Sam's dad say, "Breakfast!!!"
