As I live on God's green earth,

I send this silent soliloquy,

Hoping with all that I'm worth,

That you, this humble poem shall see.

Long has my heart gone to you,

My thoughts with you abide.

I love you, that much is true,

But when you near, my heart I hide.

I can't look you, face to face,

To tell you the way I feel.

I love you, that's the case.

You, my loving heart did steal.

Even as mine eyes do soundly sleep,

Your face my mind shall keep.
