See the merry campfire

Next to which the lovers sit.

They’re burning with desire,

A desire that won’t soon quit.

They’re both rocked into bliss

As they look in each others’ eyes.

They slowly start to kiss

While the campfire dies.

Engulfed by silent night,

They know all is all right.

Then in the winking candlelight

They each exchange a ring,

And since that holy night

Each has felt their souls sing.

The Father spoke his religious part

Unto the young two before him.

He could sense their love at heart,

And knew it was no whim.

As the candles flickered and died,

A sob of joy as each mom cried.

See the blazing funeral pyre!

Next to which a crowd does cry,

For lying in the engulfing fire

We see the lovers both did die.

The flames roared round the two

With the sound of sobbing from the crowd.

The cries died down and the flames did too,

Placing round them a darkened shroud,

Through which, after awhile,

The rays of love did still smile.

Look at the morning sun

Rising in the air.

It shines its light on everyone,

It doesn’t matter where.

And love like light doth shine

On the wide and wondrous world.

A gracious gift, divine

Through this world the lovers twirled

On the wide wings of love,

To be sent to the stars above.
