Am I really the only one that can see

The way that you treat me?

Am I the only one, who has heard what you’ve said,

And wondered if regret runs through your head?

I’m not sure if you’ll ever understand why –

Why every night I go home and cry.

I don’t think you would even care, that every word from you I hear

Causes me to go home and shed yet another tear.

Are you aware of who you have hurt? They’re many others too.

Maybe you didn’t know. You won’t find out; they’re gone because of you.

I don’t know why I let you push me around.

You just tease and taunt, watching me fall to the ground.

Everyone wants you to like them, but why?

You just go and make them cry.

Nevertheless, I wish there was a way –

Something that I could say.

I don’t know why I want you to like me.

Was it not you who inflicted pain upon me?

All sense and reason is gone far, far away,

Because I still stand in your shadow, listening to all that you say.
