She was an innocent girl from New York

Surrounded her loving family

Now I hold her in my arms

She heard the hustle of the city

Then came to be deafened by silence

Now I hug her when we meet

She fell in love with an attractive man

And dreamt of him every night

Now we walk while holding hands

She was so shy, she could not tell him

He did not know she existed

She did not know I was there

Now we smile at each other

Fate nudged an angel to me

Then we met.

Now we make special gifts for each other

She wrote me an assigned letter, I thanked her

She wrote poems for him

Now we snuggle with each other

She became good friends with me

Still she loved him ever more

Now we stroke each other’s hands

I asked her to love me, and she said yes

She still had that light beaming in her world

Now I walk her home

She had two lights in her room

A red one and a blue one

She reached out for the one she wanted

It burned her. The other comforted her.

Now we speak quite frequently

She yearned for him, and we had each other

A poor girl that was distraught

She was overrun by her own emotions

Now we kiss as we part.
