All But One

The blood of many stains my hand,
Covering my fingers like a crimson band.
A hungry smile crosses my lips,
As I lick my bloodied fingertips.

The still-warm blood carries a bitter, iron taste,
I lick my hand, not letting it go to waste.
Chuckling as I retract my steel-like claws,
I killed them all, without any probable cause.

But why need I a special reason?
There is no Human killing season.
We kill as we please, do as we wish,
A Human heart looks great on a dish.

All Humans but one should die,
The one to save in my bed doth he lie.
“You killed some more tonight, I see,”
“For you, my dearest, it was done for thee.”

My love does not approve of the things I have done,
But all that matters is that it was fun.
For tomorrow the day is entirely for rest.
We have passed our final test.

The Sun sets, the Moon shall rise,
My love can see a fire in my eyes.
He pulls me close and holds me tight,
A Human and Demon together at night.
