"Back to You"

The sun, it rises colorless,

To start cold passing day,

And I walk on in dark distress,

For fate did part our ways.

Cloaked in twilight's somber shade,

I pace with moans and sighs.

Sweet reveries all seem to fade,

Like color from the skies.

Darkness falls without a star,

And I feel close to breaking.

In deep cold night I've come this far,

Though my heart is wracked with aching.

I stagger on in ceaseless pain,

Breathless hope still leads me through.

Hope that our paths will cross again,

And bring me back to you.

Author's Note: This was an assignment for English class, and I decided to post it for your enjoyment. Reviews are very much appreciated.
