Dainty Hands:

Little did she know
She could change the world...

Her intentions were to help one person.
She longed to see him smile.
She prayed to know his contentment was true.
She stood by his side... for a while

Her dainty hands could only do so much
The weight was hard to bear.
Concerned with her own rescue
She turned back and hid her care

Away she walked, back to her cage
Where only torment lay waiting.
A heavier burden, a lighter weight
Yet her love and care was abating

Her attempt to convince herself of false hope
Never failed to add to her shame
She wanted to love, once more, one last time…
Yet the pain she had caused was her blame.

With her dainty hands she lifted her heart
The heavy burden would pass
She knew in her heart and her thoughts and her dreams
She would find a love that would last

If only time could stand still and pause
She would pause the perfect moment
When the sky faded out and the sun was set
When the clouds were filled and not bent
When his arms held her close
When his words let her know
That she was no longer alone.

With dainty hands, small wings like a bird
Little did she know
She could change the world.
