I'm from a land
Torn with customs
Feathers and head wraps drape us

I'm from Africa
Where slaves were stolen
That's where my ancestors souls remain

I'm from Down South
Where relatives roam
Where food is traditional
Right to the chicken bone

I'm from Christ
Son of God
Though I am different from you
We all are the same in his eyes
