Transformation

No, please, not yet...

I look up at the sky and pray that I have more time. I know I don't, but praying might change that. It sometimes does. The clouds start to part, and the light of the moon begins to shine on me. I realize there is no turning back. I chose the path myself, and whatever happens, I'll have to learn to cope with it. After all, what's a werewolf to worry about? Once I lose control, the pain will end. I won't come back again. It's not like those werewolf stories when I regain control during daylight. I'll be basically dead. Only my body will remain as a shell for the wolf that I become.

I wait, convinced that my troubles will end once I transform. As the clouds fully parted to reveal a full moon, I feel pain in my head, my chest, and my limbs. My eyes start to burn. My mouth feels like i'm eating fire. I fall on my knees and begin to scream. No, not scream. Howl. Everything goes from black to white, black to white, black, white, black, white. And then grey. The burning in my eyes stop. The pain also stops, and I try to get up on my feet, but can't. I feel sleepy, and then I fall down on the grass. I fall asleep, and I don't wake up. At least, not as myself.
