Robin sits upon his perch

Singing bright and gay

Yes, spring has sprung with all its mirth

So let only joy rule this day!

But Cat is watchin’

The very first springtime robin

While sittin’ on the shelf

Cat grins noddin’

Thinkin’ robin will soon meet Cat himself

But robin knows what Cat is plottin’

That ol’ fleabag’s hunger never stoppin’

Nor are his evil ways

So “G’bye!” says Robin as he flies away

“You can bet I won’t be stoppin’

By your place today!”
