Don’t cover your face with blackened clouds

That gather tears and rain on down.

Don’t make your cheeks river paths

That travel slowly, past a frown.

Life can be hard, cruel, and evil

For but brief moments when it all comes apart;

But times can be so much more joyous

When smiles touch the heart.

When one certain laugh can bring

Anger, exhaustion to an end.

A certain someone who spreads love

Like jellied jam on a piece of bread.

Please don’t fret my love, my soul-

Your emptiness casts me into despair.

The walls start to feel like their caving in

And I’m left choking on air.
