Chapter 2: A Night of Trouble
I couldn't believe my eyes when I'd come around the corner and saw David's car sitting in the driveway. I knew that I'd never be able to get him to understand what was going on, and I didn't want to go through that trouble. He'd tracked me down, so now I had to get out of the area all over again. Why couldn't he just leave things alone?
If he was inside the house, that meant he was talking to Tasha. I was hoping that she'd remembered to give him as much false information as he needed. The longer it took him to find me, the better off he would be. I couldn't have him spoiling my plans, not at this moment.
I snuck quietly around the house, set the grocery bags on the back porch, then used the grocery store receipt to deliver my 'cryptic' little message. Hopefully, he'd listen to it. But then again, the boy is a hardhead. Always has been.
After placing the paper under his windshield wiper, I calmly walked around to the back of the house and again and jumped the fence- taking extra care as not to make any really loud noises that would attract someone's attention.
Well, point one was compromised now. No sense in going back, so I took my cell phone and dialed the number of a friend of mine, Elle- who worked at the Hole. He was always pretty reasonable, so I asked him if they had any spare rooms at the place and he told me that I could use the last one. I thanked him and pressed the 'End Call' button. As I put the phone back in my pocket, I realized that David would probably check there too. That meant I would need a disguise to stay out of his line of sight. But I knew of a store where I could get the things that I needed, so I caught the bus and headed over there immediately.
--
The Rabbit Hole is probably the most sleezy club that I've ever had the unfortunate pleasure of working in. Even when I was working here- I never saw any swank dive that looked as bad or as cheesy as this one. There wasn't a sign outside the place; if you didn't already know what it was- then it was none of your business. From what I'd heard, most of the frequent visitors to the Hole were also some of the city's dirtiest scumbags. But it was an old story- one as old as time itself.
The alley running behind the Hole was full of trash and it more than likely hadn't ever been clean in the first place. The stench was very unbelievable, but it was a little bearable as long as you didn't breathe in too deeply.
I had the doorkeys in my pocket, so I just had to find the door I wanted. When I'd picked them up- Elle had given me a rather uncaring look and a smirk before he pointed out the direction of the room. Actually, I should've known that the room was in the back of thealley. Waaay in the back. He didn't have to worry about me thanking him for this one; I wouldn't.
Since I was dressed like a hooker, I didn't really expect to be able to just 'walk' down the alley without getting my fair share of catcalls from the men who frequented the alleyway to conduct their own business- whatever it may be. But that wasn't really important, they'd keep their face and their lives as long as they didn't try and touch me. Not like I'd allow that to happen anyway. Being dressed in a tight tank top with a thigh length skirt and heels really wasn't helping me out though. Just as I passed one of the cars, the passenger door opened and I heard someone get out of the car. Just my luck. He was probably going to try and make a pass at me. Which he did.
"Hey lady! You! With the skirt! Hey, stop- c'mere and party with me and my friends."
I could tell from his voice that he was slightly drunk- but still, I stopped walking and slowly turned around to face this person who was trying so desperately hard to get my attention. As he came into my line of sight, I realized that he was young- very young. Looked like a high school football player. A kid.
He set the bottle of beer in his hand on top of the car and closed the door, then he started approaching me slowly. I glanced off to the side and rolled my eyes as he stopped in front of me. He didn't look too bad, but there wasn't anything I could do for him. He just hadn't figured the part out yet. It didn't stop him from trying though.
"So how much is a beautiful lady like you worth out here?" He smiled at me, revealing a set of creamy white teeth. I looked away from him as he slowly took his left hand and started rubbing my thigh with it. He seemed to be enjoying himself, so I wouldn't stop him just yet.
"Well? You gonna tell me what you cost? I like to play with the most beautiful toys."
Toy? Me? Moi? Toy? That was a new one on me. I couldn't believe that he'd even utter something so stupid. Yet, I looked back at him and gave him the sweetest smile that I could. I took my hand and carressed his cheek, then I leaned closer to him and looked into his eyes.
"I'm not a toy. And I cost more than you might be willing to part with." I said.
"Really? Well- actually, money isn't an object with me. I can afford your price, whatever it is." He looked so confident, so smug, that I was sure he didn't know what he was really getting into. But that was on him. I tried to warn him.
"I don't care about your money. I don't need money." I told him. He scoffed and looked at me like I was crazy.
"Lady- get off it. You must need money. You're dressed like that, in an alley full of winos and horny guys. What? Are you a freak or something? You do this shit for the thrill of it? Is that it?"
His breathing was getting more and more rushed. I knew that I should probably end this encounter, but I was sure that he wouldn't just let me walk away from him without a fight. So I did the next best thing.
"Do you have a name, sweetheart?" I asked. At that, he just smiled and shook his head.
"Yeah, I got a name. But to get it out of me- you gotta do something that I like."
"And what is that?" I asked him, realizing that he was more stupid than I'd previously thought.
"You gotta take it like a good girl." He was smiling at me harder now. I nodded.
I slowly started walking away from him, and he followed me. We walked into an alley and before I could even turn around, I felt his hands on the back of my skirt- pushing it up. Did he think that he really had a chance for that much fun? He must have; I turned around and found myself looking at his pants already around his ankles. He didn't even have on any briefs. I couldn't hold myself back any longer- I started to laugh really hard.
"Wha...? What are you laughing at?" He asked me. I looked at him and smirked. This was really unbelievable actually.
"Did you really think that I was a good girl? I'm more like the girl you hope you'd never meet."
He approached me, still not fully understanding what it was that I was saying.
"Oh yeah! I knew you were a freak! You're into all that wild shit, aren't you? I knew this was gonna be the best night of my life!" He was grinning from ear to ear. I smiled at him and turned my back to him- preparing myself for the next part.
He was still smiling as I whirled around and shot him point blank in the forehead with a silenced pistol. As his body fell to the ground, I bent down and looked at the eyes which now had become glassy and dull. That stupid smile was frozen on his face.
I hoped that I'd given him his night to remember.
"I've never been a good girl. I'm more like a bad bitch. And you're keeping me from my job." I whispered.
I stood up and put the pistol away before straightening myself back up. His body would be here a while, but I didn't want to stay around and sing lullabies to it. His only mistake had been trying to talk to me, hopefully he wouldn't make that same decision in his next life. I looked around, gathered my things, and walked out of the alley. The car with his friends in it was still there, but they were so busy having their fun that they never even noticed me walk out of the alley and into my room.
They'd be in for the shock of their lives when they find their friend...but by that time I'll be long gone anyway. Besides, it was time for me to begin my mission- and I couldn't let anything stand in the way of that...
...or anyone.
