A/N: I’d actually like to thank my friend Justin for this, because he’s been writing vampire poetry lately. I read some of his work…and got inspired to write one of my own. And also…one of my favorite web comics, Arcana. But I added my own sort of style to it as well. Anyway, please read and review. As always constructive criticism is loved!
Life In Death
The predator that lies in the guise of night
One so beautiful, why do you hide?
You’ve seen me before, but never truly looked
And that I long for the vampire’s kiss
Craving your touch on my skin
And the thrill of eternal life
I’ve watched you kill, my fallen angel
Seen the light come back to your eyes
And the look of horror on your victim’s face
But they don’t see past the violent demon
Lips and flesh stained with blood
Why do they not see the truth in your disguise?
Night after night passes, and still I do not leave your side
My fair-skinned love, please don’t hide your lovely eyes
All along I sought to learn so much of you
One could call me insane or without common sense
But no one ever meets their dreams in real life
I wish just once, for you to look my way
Because never would one so entrancing notice me
Staying to the side, tiring of only watching
Will I ever be wrapped up so tightly in your arms
And experience the pleasure of the immortal’s bite?
Though I do not seek death
I ask for your blood
Knowing that it will forever be life in death
