I WANT TO SUSTAIN YOU.

I want to be the oxygenated blood pumping to your cells

Making you get up in the morning

Your arteries dispersing life to your

Listless limbs and extremities (inside and out)

I want to be your hypothalamus, your

Bodily regulator, keeping your metabolic processes intact

I want to be in your brain, controlling your

Serotonin levels, making you want to live again

I want to reside in your heart and mind

To see what it is that makes what is in fact you

I want to be your declarative memory

Sieving out those times that hurt

Emphasizing the moments you felt most elated

Mostly for life, for you, for everything that is you

I’d kill to be your eyes – every facet

To bring on new perception through visionary embrace

To catch the tears that so easily pours from your tear ducts

I want to be your dilating pupils

Letting the enlivening light of hope into your body (and soul)

I want to pull your head out of the darkness

I want to pull you back in from that ledge

I want to make everything right for you

I want to give you what you can’t find in yourself

I want to take this blind fold off your heart.
