Starlit Dawns of the Ever Changing Seasons

Dead leaves whisper under crimson October clouds

November slowly lowers her autumn filled eyes

Bleak December kisses snow flakes from the sky

Starlight dwindles above an amber dawn

-

The willows weep beneath an icy skin

My soul is trapped in this frigid realm

My eyes are frozen shut in the crystal beauty

January closes the lonely farmer’s door

February quickly sweeps Winter’s fallen tears away into the sunset

Snow capped houses cry away the soft blanket of snow

Starlight dissolves beyond a mercury dawn

-

March slides along the sun’s golden rays

The sky slowly tilts its azure dome toward Spring

April brings its midnight haze and rolling clouds of life

Showering the wasted fallows with tiny specs of hope

The tiny drops sting my eyes as my gaze beams toward the heavens

Booming shouts of nature’s rebirth

Shake the ground beneath my frozen feet

Tumultuous celebrations thunder from above

Starlight is masked behind a black-cloud dawn

-

April floods into May and the trees sing between their flashing leaves

The emerald realm bares forth its laughing children of earth

I sing along with the golden daisies and the velvet lavender morning glories

Starlight smiles above a silent dew-covered dawn
