Tonight was going to be the night. I was going to lose my virginity to my long time boyfriend and he didn't even know it yet. I smiled to myself as I danced around my room trying to decide what to wear. I was excited and I knew that he would be too as soon as he found out what was going to happen this evening after our two year anniversary dinner with his parents. My hair was still wet from the shower and I was having really bad decision problems with what to wear. Do I wear jeans like I always do? Or do I wear a mini skirt so that I'm flashing a bit of leg? I was going to dinner with his parents to a restaurant so I guessed that I had better dress up a little bit. I sighed and sung along to the radio as I stared into my closet. That's when I saw it just hanging in the very corner. I had to reach really far to get hold of it but when I pulled the dress out from the closet I grinned. It was a black halter with a spilt on the right side up to my thigh. Perfect.
"Rhea! Jordan just called," my mother called from down the hall in the kitchen. "I told him that you'd be ready for six-thirty!"
My eyes widened as I glanced at my clock. It was a quarter past six already! Oh my god! I thought to myself as I rushed to put on the dress and tie up my long dark hair so that it looked elegant. Then I put on my silver locket and matching bracelet before slipping on my black high heels. I grinned at my reflection in the mirror and gave myself an imaginary pat on the back. I looked much older then seventeen in this get up even without my make up. Grabbing my denim jacket and hand bag, I rushed for my bedroom door. Jordan would be here any minute and I wanted to ask my mother what she thought of my outfit before I left.
"Mum! Mum!" I called as I rushed down the hall searching for my mother.
"What is it Rhea? You sound like you've just found out that the house is on fire," her mother answered from the kitchen just as I burst through the door.
"What do you think?" I simply asked, ignoring her sarcasm as I twirled around slowly.
"You're gorgeous," Mum said, smiling and then looking around the kitchen. "But you're missing. . .something."
I watched as she went over to the fresh bouquet that decorated our dining table and she snapped off the head of one of the brightly coloured flowers. I smiled as she came towards me and tucked the flower into my hair on the right side. She stood back and nodded to me just as much as she was reassuring herself. My mother was a stylist and dressed many of the models that grace that pages of some of those big shot magazines that come out every month. She knew what looked good and what was hot at the moment so I trusted her judgment fully. I get along really well with my mother. I rushed forward and threw my arms around her. Just then a car horn beeped outside and I slipped on my jacket.
"Thanks Mum," I said as I rushed for the door. "Don't wait up!"
I let the door slam shut behind me as I rushed to get into my boyfriend's car. Jordan is absolutely gorgeous. Many of my friends are jealous of the two of us. He has longish blonde hair and sparkling baby blue eyes then to top it off, he has the best body. I would definitely say that he's a sexy guy and I'm so glad that he's mine. There's been times during our two years of being together when I'd nearly let down my defenses towards him in the bedroom but when I'd changed my mind again he'd never pressured me to do something that I hadn't wanted to do. He'd hinted enough times but never did what I'd seen some of my friends' boyfriends do.
"Hi," he said, grinning at me as I slipped into the car before leaning over and kissing my cheek politely.
"Hey," I replied as my face started to turn pink, he was so perfect.
"You look beautiful. That dress suits you perfectly," he said, smiling and looking me up and down again.
I smiled, thanked him and then looked down at my lap so that my eyes wouldn't tell him what I was thinking. That's when I saw that the split up the side of my dress was showing more then it should have. I blushed and quickly adjusted it as Jordan started for the restaurant. We were going to Poppy Chulos and they already knew that it was our 2nd anniversary. We'd had our first date there and our 1st year anniversary as well. You could even say that we were celebrities there. Halfway there, Jordan reached over and took my hand in his. We were sitting at a red light so he took the chance to look at me again but I made a point by staring out the window. I couldn't let him know. It was a surprise.
(stars here. break in story.)
Our knees touched under the table and I gave Jordan a shy smile then he grinned before continuing to talk business with his father. His mother gave me a knowing look and I blushed. I hoped that she didn't know what I was thinking. I hoped that she couldn't guess what her son was getting from me for our anniversary. Jordan took hold of my hand and brushed his lips across my knuckles. I smiled at him again and his mother nodded approvingly at the two of us, saying that we made the perfect couple.
"Thank you," I told her and locked eyes with Jordan finally giving him a look that all males in our species understand.
"I just can't believe how grown up Jordan has become in the last two years. Turning nineteen and meeting you. It's just too much. He's not my little baby anymore. Soon he'll be up and gone out of my life just like his brothers," Mrs Garrets said, taking her husband's hand in hers. "Maybe we'll have to have another baby."
"No way!" Mr Garrets exclaimed loudly getting a few odd looks. "I don't think that it's a good idea darling. Four boys is enough already. I don't know if I could handle raising another. You'll just have to wait for Kyle's baby to be born in a few months. Then you'll be able to play grandmother."
"When's his baby due?" Jordan asked his father and taking a sip of his beer. "I thought it was still ages away."
"Three months. Then you'll be an Uncle. I'd like to see you responsible enough to take care of a niece or nephew. I'd pay in fact to see that," Mr Garrets said with a chuckle. "I'm only pulling your chain. You'll make a wonderful Uncle and someday, not any time soon though, you'll make a wonderful father."
"Thanks Dad," Jordan said, blushing.
I laughed along with his mother and wiped a bit of sauce of the corner of Jordan's face with my napkin. He smiled at me again and then it was back to shop talk with his father while I was left to talk about girlie things with his mother. She gave me some tips on getting stains out of washing and the best shampoo for my hair. She's a hairdresser and I've been getting my hair cut by her for the past year or so. She was really good at what she did and I love coming out of her salon looking like a super model. A quick colour and cut can cost quite a lot when you're not dating the owner's son. Mrs Garrets is one of my mother's personal favourites to have working with her on a shoot. That's how they first met and then they introduced me and Jordan to one another. We clicked instantly and had our first date only a few days after meeting. Luckily we were both single.
"Well, we should probably finish up and get a move on," Mr Garrets said to his wife with a smile. "This is their anniversary and they probably want to spend some time together without us old fuddy duddies."
"You're not a fuddy duddy," I told him with a smile standing at the same time he did. "You're better then any guy's father I've ever known. So up beat and cool. I'm so jealous of Jordan. My father is the strictest man in the world. At least. . .he was."
We all went silent and I suddenly wished that I hadn't brought up my father. He'd taken off about four years back when my mother was pregnant with my third sister. He hadn't even said good bye and I've only ever heard from him once. He sent me a brief letter a year after he'd left on my birthday. I don't know why he left but I knew that my mother did and I had a small inkling that so did Mrs Garrets but I would never know for sure. Jordan put his arm around my shoulders and whispered that he was going to pay the bill but then Mr Garrets jumped and refused to let his son pay for the dinner. It was their present for us on our 2nd anniversary.
"Are you okay?" Jordan asked me and I nodded, not trusting myself to speak within shoving my foot into my mouth again. "Are you sure? I can take you home now, if you want."
"No. I want to spend more time with you. We've past the first mile stone and we need to celebrate," I replied, slipping my arms around his neck and kissing him softly. "Okay?"
"Definitely," Jordan replied, his arms going around my waist and smiling at me.
"Good. Now come on. Let's walk your parents out," I said, leaving my arm around him as we walked.
