You were always there for me,

You held me when I cried,

I never saw you look at me,

You kept it hid inside.

1

To him I was a nothing,

Not worth the time of day,

To you I was your world, your light,

But now I’ve thrown that away.

1

You were there when I cried at night,

You were there when I screamed,

You were there to hold me tight,

And scare away my dreams.

1

You went away that night,

Tears in your eyes,

You told me what was kept in your heart,

And stripped away the lies.

1

You told me that you loved me,

I said that couldn’t be,

You said you had and always would,

But still I couldn’t see.

1

I turned you down that night,

You left with a broken heart,

I cried and cried at what I done,

Wish I could go back to the start.

1

I never saw you after that night,

They said you left a note,

Saying how you loved me,

But then you slit your throat.

1

They said that it was quick,

I hope that they are right,

I cried for you, and said a prayer,

I shouldn’t have turned you down that night.

1

‘Cos now you’re gone I know,

I loved you and still do,

I wish that you were here with me,

So I could say I love you.
