-Frozen-

My heart stands still
I can breathe
I feel no ill
because I’m free.
Don’t have the need
only desire
and do take heed
that it’s a temporary fire.
Because the truth is plain
my heart feels nothing
all the opportunities equally lain
but my heart’s not even opening.
It remains shut,
my skin warm, but my heart cold.
I’m afraid it’ll rot
but the fear becomes old.
So in the end I only embrace
the truth that stays unbroken
for you it may be hard to face
that my heart is frozen.

This poem I wrote to explain myself more or less, to the people that have loved me through out time and I have been unable to return the favor. I’ve never loved, at least not the love that is returned, only had one experience with one sided love and it broke me to pieces. Everytime I feel something, I break my own heart, freeze it, so no one else tries to do it for me. It’s just the way I am, and it’s hard to understand for some, but it’s just me.
