I snuggled up against the grass

To watch

The birds

Flying to and fro,

Freedom incarnate.

The graceful gliding of bodies and wings

Only makes

The beauty

Of life

A little more clear.

I looked up

Into the sky

At those wondrously

Simple

Yet complex creatures

And my soul

Was in ecstasy.

Life

Is

Beautiful,

The sky seemed to say.

I looked up

With wide eyes

And a smile

Of pure joy

And then…

Pigeon shit fell on my head.

Well,

It happens.
