Interview With a College Student
By Joyce Reid

I find that college life can be
Quite vigorous and actually
A bit more than I bargained for --
Hang on, there's someone at my door.

Yes, college life is full, it's true,
Of classes, homework, and the flu,
But am I bitter? Of course not!
I've paid to come here -- it's my lot!

While here at school I aim to please
My profs, but why they always tease
Me for my grades I find a bit
Too far to stretch this thing called wit.

And when I'm overwhelmed or sad
I grab the phone and call my dad
And list my troubles, one and all;
I'm sure he's really glad I called.

Alright! So college ain't that bad,
I now can read and write and add,
But shouldn't there be more to life
Than lectures, tests, and roommate strife?
