Red, gushing from the hearth;

Crackles, breaking the eerie silence-

Omnipresent notes,

Floating through the air-

Black, entering the bright atmosphere,

Twinkles of broken glass…

Omnipresent notes,

Floating through the air-

Destroying the peace without a single care.

Screams of pain and regret-

Red flows from another source.

Omnipresent notes…

All of them,

Moans as one loses their ability to numb;

Painful hurts that are inflicted upon them.

Omnipresent notes,

Floating through the air-

Making sounds across the room,

Echoing,

Echoing,

Omnipresent notes.

Crackles, twinkles, screams and moans-

All are omnipresent notes,

For my child’s lullaby.
