Her Song

The music drifts through the window of her soul
Her song is sung through unmoving lips
It is silent, unmoving, unbound, unbroken
Drifting through a sea of unshed tears
And swimming an ocean of silent screams
It is rising, soaring, falling, wailing
Slipping through the cracks of her shadowed wall
And speaking of things that are too corrupt to be known
It is piercing, and shaken; imprisoned, and damaged
Hiding deep in the depths of her soul
Breaking loose and riding the wind
It is free, unwilling, unwanted, unbeaten
Her song is sung through unwilling lips
And written deep upon her damaged heart
