Chasing the sunset, pursuing the light,

Trying to reenact the dawn,

Escaping the darkness, forever in flight,

Dare not admit what was lost is gone,

Chasing the sunset, trying to find,

Any life, was left unlived,

Chasing the sunset, leaving behind,

A day with nothing more to give,

Chasing the sunset, denying the end,

How could the light seem this unspent?

Chasing the sunset, around the bend,

There must be some dawn that’s left to rend.
