The sound of growling fills your ears.

The smell of fear and hate is on the air,

Mixed with The White One’s sent.

You walk to the mouth of your cave to see what’s wrong.

Expecting to see her fighting one of your pack.

But the wolf you smell isn’t of your home.

His sent is unknown to you,

Unwanted.

You run now,

Your fear for The White One growing.

Reaching the mouth of your cave you wonder;

Where are they?

Raising your nose to the night sky,

Scanning the surrounding areas for the intruder.

There you caught it!

The vile stench comes from the trees.

You hurry towards the smell.

Running past more of your pack,

They wonder where you run to,

But they do not follow.

Entering a clearing,

Surrounded by trees.

You see The White One,

She fights a gray wolf,

Who’s right forepaw is bleeding heavily.

He pounces on her,

Pinning her to the ground.

You can not stand it any longer.

A low growl forms in your throat.

Hearing the sound he turns,

But all he can see are your eyes.

Yellow irises surrounding black pupils.

You body seems cut from the night sky.

You lunge at the gray wolf’s neck.

Griping tightly;

You shake your head.

Your mass so great compared to that of your opponent,

Allows you to fling him into the trees.

Jumping to his feet,

With a growl that sounds more like a squeak compared to yours,

He runs off.

The White One comes to stand next to you,

She licks you cheek.

Her way of thanking you,

And proclaiming you her leader.

You return the gesture;

And walk off towards you cave.

She follows,

The rest of your pack watches but doesn’t follow.

They leave to go to their places for sleep.

You reach your spot,

Circling,

Once

Twice,

Three times then you sleep.

You feel her body heat,

As The White One lies down next to you.

For now you sleep to prepare for tomorrow.
