They sing aloud
Of there freedom
Home of the proud
Land of the free
Rings over harmonious melodies
Enraptured by the beauty
Of a country bound in unity
The ability to speak your mind
As long as your of there kind
Able to be accepted
Unless, of course, you're rejected
The darkness or lightness of your skin
You'll lose, even if you're qualified to win
Sexuality, for our sins we must repent
Regardless if we don't regret
Burnt at the stake for blasphemy
Woman to woman the never allowed holy matrimony
Animals, abused without a thought
Children playing with guns, right and wrongs were never taught
Husbands, sons, and fathers at war without a cause
Magazines that remind us of our flaws
Normal a standard set by the few who have power
In our religions we cower
Built like robots, set on overdrive
In our killings we thrive
Thank god were alive
They sing aloud
Of there freedom
Home of the proud
Land of the free
Rings over harmonious melodies
Enraptured by the beauty
Of a country bound in unity.
AN: okay so I am being a usa hater, but whatever, so much for a break ehh, this is my most favorite poem I ever wrote!
