Sleep, Little One

Title is VERY misleading, check the rating. Pretty dark poem, no happy end either- ye have been warned. I’m just depressed. This was scrawled on a scrap of paper at bout 1 in morn, if that explains anything.

Screams are commonplace

In my tortured world

Harsh reality is a clichéd phrase

And it's too soft for me, anyway-

Reality is more than harsh

Overdose has its highs, and

Its lows, of course

An addictive circle

But it wasn't working

My reality had people killing

With guns, rods and

Blood, drops of crimson rain

And in my alternative reality…

People killed with sunflowers and sticks

Smiles on their faces,

And mine…

Sleep, little one

Dream of maimed people

Dead people

Screams and unreal colours

Stars blinked out, sky purple

Product of red and blue

Bleeding into the cerulean sky…

Is there no escape?

I could die- go to hell

Bottled agony and dead pits

Of nothingness, forever…

Fear and fright

Alive, dying slowly

Sinking into blackness,

Whiteness, multicolour

My broken body hits the ground

No tears, no relief

Just oblivion…
