Rights

A mind divided, do I have the right,

To punish you for your crime?

A straight ‘A’ student

A youth member at church,

Who would believe me?

But more pressing, do I have the right…

To take away your freedom,

To ruin your future chances,

The way you ruined mine.

My mind divided,

One reluctant,

The other screaming Vengeance!

Do I have the right,

to make you known as scum?

Do I put you in jail, or walk free,

To hurt someone else?

Its my fault then if…

when that happens,

You cant stop, your scum.

I’ve decided, my mind is at rest.

I am right, I have the right,

To put you in jail,

because once,

you went beyond the pale.
