My name is Bethany. Most people know me as Janey Doe. It's really annoying, like I would prefer that stupid nickname over my real name. I'm also really sick of reporters.

Hold on, I should probably explain why I'm writing this. But where do I start?

I was in a coma for over a month. Nobody knew who I was or where I came from. The nurses tell me that it was a big deal with the newspapers. I still get cards and flowers from strangers all the time. It doesn't make sense to me, but at least my room isn't so plain.

I've been in this hospital ever since I "woke up" about 3 months ago. My therapist is Dr. Kaisek. She spends a lot of time with me. I think she's the most patient person I've ever met. It was her idea for me to start this journal. I'll try to write at least a little bit every day.
