You Saved Me
I was on the edge of lowliness,
I was on the brink of despair,
Staring into the vastness,
Cold winds whipping my hair.
As I looked into my uncertain future
I can say I wasn’t that scared.
You see I’d taken for granted
That I was the only one there.
As I tried not to step into the emptiness,
The deepest darkest despair,
The blackness retreated around me,
The winds silenced through my hair.
Because now I look at my uncertain future
And know that I’m not scared.
You saved me, you see, from the darkness,
Because I wasn’t the only one there.
