I’m a thousand

Years from me

Because I’m a mile

From you

My heart is

Still breaking

Will this ever end?

Will seasons keep changing?

Will birds still sing?

Will I be able to keep pretending?

My heart screams no

My head urges me onward

Towards the emptiness

Of my life

I remember your touch

I long for it

With everything

I possess

I see the sunshine

It’s been a year

Since you went away

Is it easier to leave,

Than be left behind?

Do you wake crying?

And fall asleep that way too?

If you do,

You feel half as bad as me

You were everything

And now everything has gone

All I’m left with

Is me

Whoever that may be

I want you here

To dry my tears

To hold me into night

Winter’s slipped away

To cruel spring

Bringing summer

Bringing tears

Now and forever

You’re my all,

My everything
