How many miles along the ocean are filled with sand?

Can you count the many footsteps left

Through out times ruthless flow?

The number of shells and plants

Eggs and starfish

And little specks of diamonds.

Miles and miles of time left buried over itself.

You seem to sparkle with all of it around you

Why is it hard to smile with the wind?

Instead you refuse to turn around

And take your eyes from that yellow glow.

Wishing that you'll stay forever

The waves wash around your toes

And leave little bits of the past to scratch them up.
