Everwhite
Softly shines the everwhite,
Flower of the long ago.
So did she of whom bards sing
Blossom before winter's snow.
Long she wandered, weeping here,
Waning like a dying star.
Flickering, fading, shadows come,
Blocking out the light afar.
Petals of the everwhite
Scattered on the barren ground,
Withering, fading, float away.
So she passed without a sound.
No more blooms the everwhite;
Putrid smokecovers the sky.
Darksome ash buries the place
Where she lived, and loved, and died.
