Boy and Mother

Boy, look around us.
Highschool.
The people here do not know
What they want,
And if they do, don't know
The first place to look for it.
You may think you and I
Are different. Because,
They told us so.
But boy, that doesn't mean one thing.

Mother, I am sorry.
I see your love
Though it comes out as pain,
Or maybe hatred.
It doesn't matter.
We, both of us, mess things up
Every time.
We try.
But mother, they are good ideas, even with the screaming.

A coward punishes himself after he has done something wrong. A brave man doesn't do it in the first place.
