my sharpie microphone, retro

headphones soft and padded over

my bleeding ears, blaring music from

the stereo with the twisted plug (mangled metal)

and feet twirling me in layers of

pink, the color they paint on newborn's walls,

& the fabric falls, it falls

around my ankles in a cascade of imitation taffeta.
