Do you remember the night

When you first kissed me?

When you held me tight

And said you loved me

Do you remember the time

When we counted the stars?

Cuddled as we saw the moon climb

And knew that night was ours

I know I remember

The warm touch of your skin.

I know I remember

The feeling my heart held within

I know I remember

The twinkling eyes of heaven

I know I remember

And think about it often

But you’ve pushed them from memory

And act like it never happened

And here I am, drowned in misery

The sorrow on my heart blazoned

Where were you when I needed you

To guide me through troubled waters?

My ship has crashed and tossed askew

But to you none of that matters

Because you’ve your own friends

To help you through the day

And no matter how the road bends

They’ll help you find the way

Here I am, crying silent tears,

Sitting alone in you shadow

And now the biggest of my fears

Is accidentally letting my feelings show

And you’ve forced me into writing

A stupid teenage love-sick poem

My mind seems to have lost its footing

So now I have another problem
