Ghost of a memory June 27, 1999
It seems like eternity
when I'm lying on that grass.
It also seems as if it was adream,
too good to be true.
Cuddled up warm next to one of
the only guys who has understood me
with all my antics and insecurites.
We are just sitting there, watching the stars
hoping that one will dart across the sky
so Jeana can see one
(She hasn't, ever)
The insects buzz frantically
the heat is pounding down, even in the
pitch black night
The lights of the city are a constant reminder
of the life we have left behind for a moment
but then it happens...
a solitary flame of white slashes the sky
I grip onto him and make a wish
I wish (rather stupidly) for selfish things
When I know I should wish for this moment
to last forever
