I sit here listening

To this endless chatter

People going on with their lives

While with every second

someone dies.

If you don’t know them

why should you care?

That’s how most people think right?

Me? Well I like to mourn for all

I know that other families are out there

Hurting,

Shedding their tears,

Feeling pain that everyone else

Goes through at one point or another.

I like to be the one,

Who cares.

The one people know they can go to

No matter who you are

Boyfriend,

Stranger,

Especially my closest friends

I understand

I have an open mind

I’ve felt pain

At one point in time

I’m here for all

Which is something you should know

My heart is open

It beats with patience,

nice and slow.
