Vanity, hate, and lust
All these things are inside of us.
You call them impure, not right, sin,
Well you know what, it always has been.
Why do you pound so much stress into us?
Telling us what is love and what is lust?
Ever hear the phrase ‘live and learn?’
How can we ever live without getting burned?
I hate you and your forcing ways
Poetic verse and inspiring phrase.
All this is bullshit to me,
Means nothing at all, you see
When you tell me what to believe
What is there for me to achieve?
What type of faith can I acquire,
Always stopping at barbed wire?
My path may have a few falls,
A few barriers, many walls,
But I’d rather have that then be sped ahead,
Not believe anything, be full of dread.
I’d rather have my hands scourged, ripped, and bleeding
Then take this path you’ve been leading.
Simple, straight, easy as pie
Well you know what? It is a lie.
I do believe he died for us,
That his cause was just,
That he saved us all that fateful day,
And in a coffin he did lay.
Yet some things you tell me to believe in are so fake,
You tell me things I just can’t take.
He made us all equal you say
All unique in every way
You tell me he loves us all, boy and girl
No matter what banner they unfurl
Take a leaf from a book of your own
And leave other beliefs alone.
