Dichotomy: Majesty
Prologue
Fading Madness Productions

The Healer’s hands were warm on her skin, the soft fingers digging gently into her abdomen. Inside, something shifted, moved, and she screamed, or tried to, as she struggled against the hands holding her down.

“Please,” she whispered. “My lord-”

“Shhh.” Her lord made soothing noises, brushing her dark hair away from her face. Sweat trapped strands against his hands and fingers. “This is for the best, you know that,” he murmured, mesmerizing. “I would never have you do something that wasn’t in your best interest.”

Pain spiked in her belly, shot up her back. Muscles gathered and pushed. She fought weakly, trying to pull her wrists from the guards’ firm grip. They’d drugged her, her mind felt sluggish, her body refusing to obey. “Please,” she whispered, helpless, hopeless. “Please.”

“Hush now,” the Healer chastised with a note of impatience. “It will all be over in moments. You know that.”

“I know,” she murmured, and closed her eyes. Muscles shuddered under her skin. “I remember.”

“There’s a good girl,” her lord praised as her belly heaved and her thighs grew red.

“Yes, my lord,” she whispered faintly as the world dimmed and disappeared. “Always your good girl.”

Please keep in mind that we are now back in the "first draft" version of the story. There will be a final editing and revision when Book Three is complete!
