We all know gold is soft, an impressionable hue.
And Curiosity! That cat, you see, framed the poor dear child.
But how the neighbors gossiped! The word had scattered wild…
Spread like wild fire, indeed, consuming all the trees.
Flickering with lightning speed, it bothered busy bees.
All’s well that ends well, though, and come what may
not even this poor poetry can kill the crude cliché.
