When the old man said

He could feel it in his bones,

It was taken as a sign

And we all hastened to buy a

Ticket to the majestic theater.

Prepared against the elements,

We sit to watch tonight’s show.

Gradually,

And ever so gradually, the natural lights dimmed.

The audience below

Draws a great breath in unison,

Anticipating the grand spectacle.

Curtains of crushed blue velvet

Part to release the deluge.

The tempest now a Harlequin dancer,

Flowing and flourishing

In a swirl of diamond patterns,

While the thunder shows its appreciation

By greeting the storm

With tumultuous applause.
