entropy

the mind inebriated with self-inflicted dystrophy
stumbling in deeper recesses, darker nights than those
when weak and pallid light is obstructed by the eclipse
when the blind man sees more than the man with 20/20 vision
when unsure hands reach for the tangible and grasp nothing
dendrites transmitting messages from the CPU
to fingertips to graphite to paper
but they only get so far and fail to reach the destination
incapacitated with a sudden lack of mental and motor skills
brain can’t coordinate with hand
like the dysfunctional compiler can’t convert the code
like the pathetic machine can’t decrypt the cipher
and a vast binary chaos stretches out
farther than any wasted dendrite ever could
and there’s no time to think, only to sleep
and hope for less colorful and more integral dreams
than Kubla Khan and to wake up with a hangover
pounding the head from inside out with echoes of a past reality
